the popular ICEbear, now labeled 'ICEbear classic' is now sold starting from USD 170 (EUR 109).
The reasons:
- Most people do not make of the extended support (whose costs is also counted in)
- Cheaper production (however, still Swiss made) and handling
- New ICEbear 'plus' units out
This implies a few changes:
- Extended support for debugging of customer hardware is no longer covered by the ICEbear 'classic' bundle price and needs to be negotiated by case.
- The extended support is now moved into the ICEbear Plus bundle. All extended functionality and further custom development will move into the ICEbear Plus.
- No more CDs printed included. Due to the high costs of the software, we had to drop this in favor of a more fair price.
This doesn't imply much of a change, so I'm counting on your understanding. Of course, previous ICEbear 'classic' customers will still receive the support they have paid for.
In the longer term, the ICEbear 'classic' will fade out in favor of the new Plus units. We'll carry on with the 'classic' at least until end of 2011.
